Rory's First Bike

Rory's 4th Birthday is on Monday July 30th. So sweet Grandpa Ohr took him to get a bike 2 days ago. Rory was so excited! I accidently told him that grandpa would get him a bike when we were at the store a couple of weeks ago so he had been quizzing me ever since then on when he was going to get the bike. So I was relieved that it came sooner than later. Now the only problem is he wants to ride the bike all the time so he keeps asking to go outside to ride it. I can handle once a day. But not 2 to 3 times a day.

He rode it around the house the first night, and then took his bike helmet to bed. So the next day we went to the park for a couple of hours and he rode his bike every minute we were there. Wyatt was a little ticked he didn't get one of his own but Rory the sweet little brother that he is helped Wyatt climb up on his bike a couple of times and pushed him around. Just love it when they get along! Brian and I aren't sure where we are going to put the bike, our options are slightly limited. We will figure it out!

By the way my dad's lump in his kidney was looked into further by a specialist and he does not believe it is CANCER. We are so relieved. But he is keeping an eye on it.

We had such a fun time this weekend. We went up to Brian's parents Cabin. It was GORGEOUS up there. We went hiking, swimming, threw a ton (and I mean poor Brian can vouch for that) of rocks into the lake. We had such a great time. It was so relaxing and needed. We are now getting into the swing of things and realize that this residency is taking more time than originally anticipated, which is not a problem, but we realize that we need to focus on doing stuff together more.

Seems like everyday Rory and Wyatt like to get dressed up into their superhero costumes and go to work to fight the evil mommy and daddy robots. Its so fun! These guys love watching Star Wars ( the animated version) and The Incredibles and acting out certain scenes. Its really paying off that I am being a little bit more relaxed with them and letting them be little boys. Its been a struggle because I can be so strict about certain things where there just being "boys" but its something that I am working on. I'm grateful Brian is there to help me.

Today is kind of a surreal day. Brian is starting his second week and still loving it. Lots and lots of orientation but thats ok at least they will know what to do. The kids have been really good, no fighting (for the most part) and really good listeners. We are looking forward to going to the zoo this week and hanging out with "girl Grace" this is Rory's new little fav girlfriend. She is a good foot taller than he is. But I think that this is going to be a common accurance in his life.

Just got some shocking news about my dad he more than likely has a tumor of some sort in his kidney. Which is kind of a tough one to swallow. Its only about 1.1 cm in diameter but its such a terrifying thing to think about. I'm certain that he will get past this and it will be something to reflect on as an experience that made my family grow closer together.
